Welcome to our world!
Greetings to everyone! I am Rebel40000, leader of the Mega Man X2 Team, Code: Island Attackers! For those of you who check up on this place from time to time, there will probably not be much importance located here, but for newcomers who have no idea what the heck they are doing, then please, read on!
To answer the most basic question... what in the world is a Mega Man Team? Well, to put it simply, a Mega Man Team is a team that revolves around people roleplaying the bosses in a specific Mega Man game. The bosses are typically the ones located on the "stage select screen" of the game, where, usually, eight bosses are given. So, it is common for most teams to have at least eight people participating. Due to the many series within the Mega Man series, the teams have often been categorized by what series they come from, the most prominent being Classic, X, and Battle Network. As this is a Mega Man X2 Team, we are an "X Team," focusing on the second game of the series. Mega Man teams have been around for years on the web, and many have both come and gone as time has passed. Even though Island Attackers is still kicking, there have been X2 Teams before us, and who knows? Maybe one day even we will be... replaced! Gasp! Well, not if this Rebel has anything to say about, at least.
As to what most teams do... Well, generally they focus on the game they deal in, but hey, if there is information to flaunt, why waste it? Teams can provide a broad range of content as long as the team members can deliver the goods. There are several things that teams share in common when it comes to content, however. The first is the epilogues, long play-like scripts which deal with the many misadventures of the teams, taking place after the game they appeared in, hence the name. Most epilogues are comical at heart, trying to do it's best to pull a joke or two (maybe three) out, while others might be rather serious, drawing in your attention from a more action-packed standpoint. Other things that teams might have in store for you is art, walkthroughs, and bios of the various team members, in an effort for you to get to know the guys behind the scene better.
Now onto the Island Attackers themselves; this site was first released to public on July 5th, 2004 by none other than yours truly! Composed of Outlaw88, Void Darkheart, Ti-An, Good Doggy Treat, ProtoBassX, Deathtuna, Ghaleonx5z, and myself, we started to work on creating a site that would make a Mega Man Team proud. We were noted in having a distinct line-up, as most people were on multiple teams at the time, and having a good website (we used Tripod) that was made with pre-planning. Alas, bad times came, as Ti-An soon dropped out, being replaced by Majin, followed by GDT, with Shadowstrike filling in. Eventually Ghaleon, Deathtuna, and PBX also left after much consent until we were brought together with Metabad, Sean, and Dark Knight respectively, which has led to our current line-up.
Starting on March 30th, 2007 I have moved the home base from Tripod to freer environment, which I hope will bring in a strong wind for the second generation of Code: Island Attackers! I promise, as leader, that we will continue to do whatever it was that made you laugh like we did way back in 2004, with the same amount of gusto and energy as always! Even when times get tough and things seem to be changing despite what you may or may not hope for, we will never forget that you, the viewers, are the reason why we keep continuing with this insanity, other than the benefit of having us eight loons have a barrel of fun. I seriously mean it!
Anyway, I suppose you could say that this is end. I have told you everything that I felt like typing about this team and Mega Man Teams in general, so there! If you want more information, you'll have to check somewhere else, like the Mechanical Maniacs, who is pretty much the top team around these parts. You should definitely check them out after exploring this site some more. Now get to it!
